Shot a couple as late as 11:45 am. On one of those hunts I didn't even go out until 11 am.

Afternoons as early as 3 hours before end of legal light.

If you always hunt the first and last hours of the day, try surprising the deer on a mid-day sit or two. You never know what you'll see and might find that you have been patterned by the deer.

I have taken (1) small 8 point around 10:30 but most of my deer have been taken early afternoon. My biggest buck was taken on Manitoulin Island many moons ago at 2:00 pm
I have had no luck early morning or late afternoon...…….go figure?

All times of the day I shot five one year, a big doe at midday, two fawns at around 4.40pm and then two Spike horns side by side at about 2pm. Not exactly hard animals to take but they did fill the meat pole. But I agree the high percentage times are first few hours and last few hours.

Lots over the years around lunch time when everyone goes back to camp and the woods get quiet. The same for Moose.

I have sat in a tree stand during the controlled hunt in 87C every year except one in the last 11 years and have shot deer in every different hour of legal shooting time. Roughly from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
