Well I have checked out facebook and there are a few women hunting, but not that many to make any fuss about.I support women hunters and you should probably not assume I do not,you should probably not also assume that "all" of the rest should support them, maybe the women would be upset that you think they need our collective support.

That is very unlikely, as the women /friends of our daughters and my wife, actually appreciate encouragement and support from male friends, husbands and boy friends.

I support anyone that wants to start hunting or fishing regardless of gender or age. That being said, I don’t think we should start sub catergorizing especially if everyone is equal, why would you want your own section. Start a thread saying hey is there any woman out there who want to get together for a hunt and boom any women out there will respond. No need for another section but if that’s what the majority wants then who cares put a section.

As for the original question, don't think there is a need for a women's only section, I've seen them on other forums and they are dead zones, not because there are no women hunters but I think the women would just rather carry on conversations in the regular hunting/fishing threads.
For guys to think that there has not been a huge movement in women hunters you need to give your head a shake and get out more, I know a lot of you are "old coots" but all it takes is a few minutes on social media to see how strong the women's hunter numbers are!! They ARE the largest growing numbers in the hunting industry at the moment and NO it's not for guys to game the system like Mike Pal's group is openly doing!!! These gals are going out on thier own and doing VERY well!!!

Wow I can't believe you wrote that on an open forum for all to see that your group of deer hunters games the system..............you keep saying no crime has been committed........you do know it is a crime to carry someone else's tag on your person do you not?? Don't have to apply the tag to make it a crime you just have to have someone else's in your pocket to be a poacher!!! Hope your group is good with a visit of two from Mr green jeans next season and hopefully you can admit to them why they are now paying fines for having thier wives tags in their pockets (illegal to have on your possession) as yes they were committing a crime!! ( your words not mine)
Funny how when it's pointed out to you that these guys are all of a sudden Dudley do rights...............hmmmmmmmm
I love fishing but REALLY it is just a way to pass time until hunting season!!!!

What a load of bs written here.Womens numbers in hunting are not "huge" and even on face book this old coot cant find big numbers.I can even show you studies indicating a drop in numbers if you care to have it?
Mike Pal did not open up the story about women gaming the system and if you are not aware of this happening you really need to get out there or better still read right on this thread what we are telling you is FACT.
Sorry when I,am in Sail and what not, I,am not seeing lots of women out there buying up guns and so forth,I do see the occasional one up north from my Hamlet out hunting. As far as urban women are concerned, hunting is not even a factor for the vast majority.

An analysis of license sales in Alberta suggested over 30% of female hunters applied for a
permit to increase the odds of the male hunter in the household getting a permit (McFarlane
et al., 2003). Female hunting participation is in part due to the province-wide structure of
hunting permit allocations; if this license system changes, female participation could
decline even though the attitude

Ducky, I think you and a few others may be interpreting things in a way that suits your option.
He never said anyone was carrying the wife's tags around. He said that the camp has 9 tags and seven hunters in camp. If wife and I are out camping/hunting and have two bear or deer tags between us there are two tags in camp. If one of us goes to town, there is still two tags in camp even when just one of us is there.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Ok gilroy you are right again.........as always........not worth arguing with you as no one can win when they match wits with you..........
By the way I never said some women are not recruited for gaming the system, I know it's alive and well, just ask mike!!! It has been for a long time but the difference is back a few years ago and beyond yes the majority were taking and getting there licence for "gaming" the system, sure there are some still doing that but there are way more who are actually taking the coarse for there own benefit and actually go out hunting, I really don't care what the numbers you can scrape up on the interwebs are saying, I'm going by actual first hand knowledge hunting with and following MANY girls who are successfully hunting with or without the men in their lives.........
Oh and then there is the snowwalker, you can take it however you want to take it but I think most know what is really going on. Don't need you to tell me how to take things.........you can go back to writing all the crazy crap that you have been on here for a while now!!! Please tell me how to wrangle a swan again!! Such entertaining reading!!

Shucks your making me feel all embarrassed. If you not interested in reading the studies done by independent bodies then there is nothing else I can do for you
The bottom line for me on this is that women generally have even more "time restraints" placed on them by society and hence they have very little time to get out into the field. The women I know who hunt dont need to be bubble wrapped with special sections on the forum, they just do their own thing already.

Wow that has got to be the most old fashioned statement I've ever heard.......so women are busier then men in this day and age..................nice!! Would have never guessed you were a cop................entitled to no end!
You read what I wrote at all about having a separate need for a women's only section and the fact there is no need for it??
