They are making a list of your name and info when you call in, then calling back to take $$ for the license. Absolutely crazy they would take down a system to make tags during the season. I did get a notice with my controlled validation permit, but it didn't specify deer license. If it did I would have made it a priority. Never thought this would be a possibility. I did call my local MPP Jeff Yurek too. I'm just hoping they call before Friday, our shotgun hunt starts on Monday! All of the farmers in our group are in the same situation.

Thanks MountainM. Can you provide more info who you called? I work in agriculture, so can understand why there would be a lot of other farmers in the same situation. It's been a very tough fall.

L_GUNN - Just the number on the back of the outdoors card, same number mentioned earlier in this thread.

Good luck!
It really is crazy that it takes a week of their system being down to switch to the new one. Name any sort of online system that needs that much downtime in this day in age? It should be a small overnight outtage you'd think then they'd be good to go.

It's working. They called, took my credit card. I have my license via email. They are supposed to be sending actual license via purolator

Awesome! I called in and received the same info. License is in the mail. The young buck on the phone said they have had hundreds of similar calls. In the public sector, people get canned for this type of decision making.

4 members of my group for the controlled hunt were in the same boat but managed to purchase their licence and are getting the tags purolatered to them. Guess they shouldn't have left it to the last minute lol.

How long did it take for the MNR to call back? I called yesterday morning and no one has called back for my credit card number. They mentioned they have staff working after hours to clear the back-log.

**UPDATE** - I just received the call and gave my CC number. The agent could not tell me when it will be processed, she was simply collecting the CC number then someone else is entering it into the "machine" and mailing out the licence via courier. Hopefully I'll get a day or two hunting in next week.
