Best of luck to you in establishing your camp. I would be all over this if I was not already a member of a camp just West of yours in Marmora. Hope you find some good people........................Daniel

It is a very generous offer, but I am concerned that you don't already have buddies to help you with this. Is there a reason for that? Just asking, no offense intended.

Yes Sinker, there is a reason for that. Like you, I am also quick to question things so I take no offense. I am also getting a variety of responses so I'll use this post to refine my original request and add more info.

I went overseas for 15 years and I am back now working in central GTA in a professional capacity. If my passion was sitting in Starbucks and wearing Canada Goose jackets I'd have a hundred friends to spend time with. Unfortunately, I was born with a bug that can't be satisfied unless I am far off the path and covered in dirt, close to animals, and working hard physically. There are not many of these types among my family or friends. Most people I know prefer full-service over roughing it.

I have been a member of two deer camps and at the risk of sounding naive, I enjoy the simple pleasure of good honest people. I am not in a rush to create a hunt camp, and I am part of a deer camp now and we share land. They really are a great bunch of guys and I can happily continue with them sharing access to my land and theirs. But, I have my own plans and a bucket load of work to do to bring my land up to shape.

I am also not offering a free ride. There are 250 acres of vacant, unmanaged land that requires trails to cut, blinds to build and more. Not to mention a cabin, dozens of apples trees untended for 2 generations, no food plots, etc. I could take 6 months off work and still not accomplish what I want.

Yet another curse of the GTA lifestyle is that I have a 1-car driveway and so I sit at home on far too many weekends because my wife needs the car for her work. I could get a second car and park it down the street, but I'd rather use that budget for the land. I need more trail cams, ladder stands...it's expensive.

So knowing full well that Cabela's and Bass Pro are selling guns to people who will never get the chance to sight them in, I am making this post offering the chance to be a part of something fulfilling. I know that I will get a variety of responses from various people and filtering through the responses is my job.

I have a personal goal to develop the land that I don't expect others to understand. I also have a goal of developing my own hunt camp and if you are a deer hunter, or waterfowl hunter you will know the joys of a good group of people. Within my network there is simply no one who enjoys these things, and as simple as it sounds, I believe that making an attempt to recreate these joys, and to help me develop the land, is worth the effort of this post. That's all. Nothing to hide.
