    Default Elk farms in Ontario

    Are they still legal with all the CWD scare,or they have been shut down.
    I think a saw a small secluded one the other day ,with single fence and few elks............some ways North of Arthur?

    They still exist, the numbers are dropping, there used to be one near Stratford but it is gone now.

    Alternative livestock are not popular and they cost a lot to maintain, a lot more than cattle.

    There was a beefalo farm not far from where I live, my wife remembers it when she was growing up but it is gone now too.

    There still around, i saw one in grey county.

    They all need to be illegal,including Deer farms,no exceptions.

    Imagine how hard that would be to do when a local elk farm is managed/run by a recently retired high level MNR manager!!
