My goal is to see a deer this year, Been out about 25 30 times and have seen nothing. Am hoping MNR starts a 3 month gun hunt just so if there are a few left can kill them then close the season around here. brutal

I have filled my 2 tags already but have 3 kids coming home for Christmas and they all still have tags - so some party hunting may be on the menu as they like to capitalize on the old man's skill set. As far as tactics go it is all about the food now. Find the food - find the deer.

Has too much time on their hands
I only spent 3 days hunting deer so far this year so I'm hoping to spend a day or two at our bow camp who happens to be in a deer yard. Deer are plenty this time of the year (4 or 5 on the pull already) and all the stand are heated, not really what i call hunting but it's still good to be out...
Good luck to All.

Has too much time on their hands
After a disappointing rifle season up north, my strategy now down home is to simply get out there whenever I can. The good news is the deer are there, including showing up in the daytime, but where, when and what shows up is totally random; no patterns. I don't bait, so I'm just going to put in time and be low-key (no calling or aggressive tactics).

Continuing to hunt near food I put out for deer at a couple of spots on my property. I was hunting stands but just set up blinds as it is a little more comfortable and easier to hide from the deer. Lots of sign all over and the are hitting the food. This is the first time I have been home in December for three years.

Although I haven’t been successful yet, I’m having plenty of fun.
I rattled one in to 6-8 paces, just couldn’t turn around to take a crossbow shot.
Plenty of bunny and coyote tracks around here too.
A couple more weeks to try.
Good luck.
