Dash cam recommendations ?
Anybody out there got a recommendation for a dash cam ?
i have a company vehicle and do quite a bit of highway driving. I see so much stupidity on the roads lately it makes me think the day will come when I need to have a recording to defend myself.
i haven’t really started looking yet, but I know I don’t want one mounted on the rear view mirror with a power cord in my field of view.
suggestions are appreciated,

I have a Thinkware F-50 dashcam, works well. Completely out of my line of sight and the power cord is long enough to go all way around the windshield, under the dash and out to a 12V outlet.

I have the same one. It's great but only plays an hour then starts recording back over again. If something does ever happen you have remember to stop it.
We went for a drive when we first got it. Saw a car slide thru an intersection an accident and a coyote running up the road. By the time we got home we had nothing we wanted to see lol. The Joy's of long winter drives ..

Has too much time on their hands
AliExpress is your friend for dashcams, lots to pick from and dirt cheap. Saw the exact one I purchased from Aliexpress, at 5X the price at Canadian Tire...lol

If you haven't done so already, ask on Google or visit youtube. They'll outline some of the parameters you should consider to make a more educated decision.

I have two of these. Get ones with a capacitor rather than a battery backup. They work great! I have them hardwired into the fuse panel. They turn off/on when you start/stop ignition.

I wish I had my on yesterday.
Driving north on 48 had a dump truck and 2 pickups in front of me. The truck directly in front of me tried to pass in a school zone. With the lights flashing well I guess the other truck wasn't going to let him pass. On coming traffic came and the truck trying to pass had to hit the south side shoulder as 2 cars came in the south bound lanes. When the truck got back into its proper lane he started tossing things out the window at the truck that didn't let him pass.
Was so very close to a high speed head on in a flashing light school zone. . Bet more than 1 needed a pant change after that.
I quickly caught up and blasted my horn at him for a while he hit his brakes hard on me so I backed off. When they turned up the road I again beeped at him and he tossed stuff out the window at me lol. I do have a short video but only see him closely tailing the the truck in front of him constantly applying his breaks . The video was after the first incident wasn't sure what was going to happen next so that's why the video came out. .
Some people I don't know .

Can you get a unit that records on motion when your vehicle is unattended. Had truck vandalized while hunting. Been thinking of hooking up trail camera.
