Great hunt!
Just curious, does your dog flush the rabbits for you? Or just point?
She points them. She has been trained to be steady to shot.

Good looking hunt! The snowshoe numbers are down where I hunt and have been for years. I thought it was just my area but from your comment Sharon, it's at least somewhat widespread.
Thanks for sharing fishhawk and congrats!

My current beagle is trained as a deer dog. She'll take a rabbit chase too, but running her in southern Ontario is risky. I might just have to get out and do some good ol' kickin' & stompin' myself.

Great hunting report and photo!
I have not seen a single rabbit or hare while hunting this year, but my GSP killed a cottontail on his own two weeks ago.
Friends go for jackrabbits every year around Boxing Day and this year they were a group of four hunters who returned empty-handed.
You are definitely in a good area and your dog is doing a fine job too, so enjoy your success!!!
