my guess; as their fat reserves are depleted they will be coming out into the sun to warm up

Good reason, but deer around here haven’t used up much fat this winter. They have had a real easy winter.

I think the deer in the London area have gotten fatter this winter, not much deep snow and lots of waste grain.
