i think it is a nice looking piece. would i hunt with it, no. but i also wouldn't condemn someone else for using it as some here have done. seems there are a few here that could easily slip into the anti gun establishment.

That was the point I was trying to get across. But I don't think the video I linked in expressed the point half as eloquently as yourself.

That's a load of unmitigated bull. I don't see that thing as being a hunt-friendly gun, but not being a no-holds-barred libertarian who believes that any gun is great in every situation is a far cry from being an anti. That kind of black-and-white argument is just too facile to take seriously.

I mean, fer gossakes, these are *opinions*...

I made it! I made it! I can't believe I read every post! I would have bet that gun at the beginning was a prohib. I guess I would have been wrong but whatever. In the end what I read into this is that the original poster is into this gun more for the image of it than the performance factor. There has been contradictory posts after the fact attempting to cover this fact. What concerns me about this individual is this lust to circumvent the 5 shot capacity rule and adding in later posts about shooting "off hand"? what kind of para militarized coyotes are you hunting? What makes anyone think that if thay can't hit thier mark with the first 5!!!! shots that the subsiquent 5 are going to make any difference? If anyone is going to idolize our military heroes then the sniper is a much better role model. I know I personally have never had to lay down suppresive fire on any of the predator hunts I have been on. Traditionally they last less than an hour per stand and end with 1 well placed shot. Ever seen what's left of a deer after some bozo who can't shoot straight and only by some dumb luck sprays his fifth shot into his third leg of the animal rendering it immobile, after nailing it through the guts and rear end with a grazing to the neck? I have, and it took 2 mags as the moron so proudly announced! But I digress. If you have a firearm that is legal and is accurate, that is all you need. What you don't "need" is an additional 5 shots for hunting. If you think you do, what you "need" to do is get out of the woods and get a new hobby. Game animals accross this nation will suffer less for it.

P.S. To all you guys preaching the 1 shot, 1 kill ideology, you all rule and I wish more than anything there were more of you out there. I can't stand the spray and pray mentality, there is no justification or excuse for it.

How many here realize that it's guys who own guns like these tho are putting up the bulk of the fight so we can ALL keep our guns? When's the last time anyone has tried to get a group from this site to send letters to their MPs etc. trying to defend our rights? Once the govt. deems all black guns prohibs on the grounds that they can't be used to hunt and are nothing but killing machines (opinion that seems present here) these guys WILL stop fighting. Then we will lose our guns too. Maybe not all... but many types (only god knows what the standards will be then) will be confiscated without compensation.

How is killing a coyote with a .223 different from killing one with a 5.56x45???

Great hunter. Yes? Fine figure of a man. Yes?
Good. That is all you need to know. For now.

You already can't hunt with "black guns" thanks to a stupid moron that went into a technical school some years back. Since that infamous day we have all been fighting an uphill battle. There is no common sense to our gun laws as they stand, we all know this. The AR can't be used to hunt because it is more dangerous than the mini 14? based on what? color? Mt friend has a non-restricted M1 carbine and a restricted one as well. the only difference between the 2, a half inch in the barrel length. duh?!?! Same friend has a non-restricted semi-auto only belt fed BAR. Barrel length well above min. No mag restriction because it has no mag, but you can string up those belts and shoot till you get a blister on your finger. The RCMP did all their tests with it and gave him his certificate saying it was all good as a non-restricted. My issue is not with what's out there, have fun now untill such time as it comes to a sad and abrupt end, my issue is with yahoos going out and mowing down the forest like in the original Predator movie. I think the 5 rounds available in most of the modern sporting arms is more than sufficient for any game animal, anything more is just ridiculous. btw, my friend only uses that BAR at the range on rare occasions just for fun. It is one of only a few in the entirety of Canada.

You're mixing up your personal opinion with, ummm fact. There is nothing factual about what you just wrote. Read the thread again from the beginning *yawn* and give us an example of the supposed contradiction.

Again, in short, what is appealing about the Tavor is that it's a bullpup: short, lightweight, fast handling, fast pointing and it still has a long enough barrel to achieve maximum powder burn / performance. I don't need an audience whilst hunting, so screw the cool factor, if any. Did I mention that with handloads, I am getting 1-1.5 MOA of the bench. Topped with a 6X fixed power (Leupold FX) it is a great 250 yard tool. Again, READ THE THREAD. Your ignorance offends me.

I don't shoot at running game, except coyotes. I always seem to come across groups of 3 or 4. I aim for the center mass with rapid follow up shots. That's why it would be great to have 10 in the mag. If that offends you, then, well, I won't lose any sleep over that, buddyboy.

Why are you bringing deer into the equation? Totally irrelevant to this discussion.

3 or 4 at a time. Great you'll still have one left. But I get it, Ratatatatatatatatatatat, Is how some feel is the only way to get it done. Coyote, deer, groundhog whatever, I related that as an example of the macho mentality of people getting thier bloodlust fix out of annihilating some poor creature to death with a hail of lead, something you just made mention to with your "quick follow up" shot or shots. Ever seen how far apart 2 shots are on a double tap "buddy boy" If you need 10 shots to take 3 or 4 coyotes you can't be taking to much time on those follow up shots. "Yotes" don't exactly hang around waiting to get pegged after they see one of thier pals going down, and they are as fast as friggin anything when they kick in the after burners. So i say again Ratatatatatatatat, you might get lucky but chances are you just flung alot of lead around for nothing. If I was more computer saavy I would go back and cut and paste the contradictions I saw, In that respect you are definitely better witha computer than I am. I have nothing personal with you particularily, I just can't stand this mentality of requiring a hole stream of back up shots, MAKE THE FIRST ONE COUNT!!!
