The CBC has the full recording of the phone call between JWR and Michael Wernick, its about 15 minutes and worth every second to listen to; she's clearly telling him to back off and he just keeps coming. The appropriateness of recording the call is up for judgement and clearly she's using language that she knows will make her the hero when the SHTF.

Personally, I don't feel she was intending to be the "hero". As Rick has said, I think she was just covering her arse? This appears to be an ongoing saga of interference and she was tired of it. While I give her full kudo's for blowing this wide open, let us not forget that she still claims to be a liberal and I'm sure lives under the ideology of the liberal umbrella.

You give her kudos for trying to keep out political interference from a criminal case. No matter what her political persuasion is, she protected the judicial system. She even tried to protect the PM from his own stupidity.

Clearly the recording was very deliberate and she rehearsed her words carefully before calling MW back. So much so that I'm surprised that at some point in the conversation MW didnt realize he had stepped into a trap.

I would bet there are a lot more taped conversations around than just hers ! She obviously felt she needed to cover her arse, as I mentioned before.
