    Default 60hp prop question

I have a 2011 Lund Alaskan 1600 with a 60hp Yamaha 4 stroke on it and it doesn’t get up on plane as fast as I would like hauling load with the current 3 blade. Wondering if anyone has a similar size/weight boat that possibly switched to a 4 blade prop and how that performs
    thanks

I have a 14 foot boat that's a bit under powered. I switched to a 4 blade and went from 9" to 7.5" pitch. It climbs on plane much better and stays up with less throttle. The top speed is the same with higher rpm than the original (now within manufacturer spec). It's hard to find specific information, I just did a bunch of research and took a stab in the dark. If you only carry a heavy load once in awhile it's not worth swapping, but if you typically carry a load and have a hard time planing I would consider making a change to suit your needs.

Thanks for the info I take it your 4 blade was the same diameter as your 3 as well

Yes the same diameter. I'll also mention before I pried my wallet open for the prop, I used a hydrofoil for a couple of seasons. It's the cheaper option and does make a huge difference, but it collects weeds as bad as if you were dragging anchor. It also reduced top speed due to drag. I'll be honest I think I had about the same result with both as far as the desired effect (planing quickly)
