Time for DEET
Well the Black Flies are here...reminds of why it's best to get your Tags filled early, no fun sitting in the bush with that cloud around your head.

Same here. It’s so cold and windy, I have yet to see an insect.

When it gets real bad, seems the bug spray won't stop em.

My wife was saying just that this afternoon...they were so thick not even DEET was doing anything. Thankfully the wind picked up mid day.

Therma-cell. Haven't bought bug spray in years now. They work unbelievably well under the right conditions.

I don't find that Thermacell works well for blackflies. Do you? It works very well with mosquitoes though.
I was out turkey hunting on Saturday in WMU 64A and I didn't find the bugs to be bad at all. This weekend will be different though as the weather is supposed to warm up.

True enough, I missed that the OP was kind of specific to blackflies. You're right, Therma-cells are great for mosquitoes but not too effective on blackflies.
