I was at a gun show (Perth) last weekend and saw a whack of old rifles for sale for between $75 and $125.....a guy from the GTA could invest $1-2K, made a few deals. Drive back to the ByBack depot and drop off G'Pa's gun collection and get $200 each for them.

A good days work and could almost double your money

No mention of the type of crap people took in a for the cash !!

Ends tomorrow...I wonder if they will releases staggering results of how many were involved in crimes and are now off the street. I hope the good folks in the GTA feel safer for the $300K spent
It's funny that the only photos the media show are from the gun seizures of the newer smuggled firearms before this "amnesty" took effect. Of course, they wouldn't want to show $305K worth of garbage guns that no one in their right minds would load rounds into lest they blew their fingers or half their face off while firing and all stacked up like scrap metal, would they? What a bunch of bullshyte artists!

Not the best day to be "INCLUSIVE".
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Between John Tory and Mark Saunders any figure can be pulled out of a hat to make numbers they want to make this program sound successful.

That $300k would have paid for probably 5 new cruisers or paid 3 officers for a year. Taking useless guns from law abiding citizens is idiotic. This is the kind of nonsense Ford will not fund anymore. I bet he cuts another $300k in subsidies to Toronto.

Sure enough,Brian Lillie has photos of turned in firearms in today's Toronto Sun. Not one of them is worth $50,but,the City of Toronto is coughing up $250-$350 each. Only a dingbat Liberal would see that as a good thing. The owners who turned them in sure will, though.

Yup...not much worth the $350 they got for it...

“What I see from that picture is someone that figured they could get $350 instead of $50-$150,” said Mark Morelli.

Morelli is a retired Hamilton police officer and an avid gun collector.

As the man behind The Canadian Gun Vault, Morelli is familiar with the prices that the guns in the photos would get on the open market.

Some collectors who were licensed and legally-owned certain types of guns prior to the Liberal gun control legislation enacted in 1995 were grandfathered and allowed to keep those guns.

But since they can only sell to similarly licenced people, Morelli said the market is diminishing and most of the pistols in the photo would fetch between $50 and $150 if sold to another collector.

“He’s getting $350 for guns with diminishing value,” Morelli said.

    Yep, Morelli is correct!
What a bunch of junk. I chopped a few handguns like those because I had no hope in selling them !
The long guns are all from some guys junk gun collections. I hope Ford takes them to task !!

Those old handguns, a few of them would fit into antique status, or be very close, I see a couple there that I know I have seen before during some antique research. Anything made before 1898 with antique status would be at minimum $500, the threshold between 1897 and 1898 can mean $2000 depending on the gun, Webley pistols (the dark blued one) are very valuable in their antique form, that one looks to be a later model but that is just based on the grips and I do not know if that varied.
