Congratulations! It's neat when you can use a live hen to your advantage. Also cool to get in real tight to his roost and hear him sound off. I bet it felt like he was sitting on your shoulder when he gobbled first thing. Had that happen for me a few times. Sure gets your heart beating. Again, well done.
