Me thinks there is definitely two sides to that story.
Doesn't pass the smell taste .

Sound similar to incident north of GTA a few years back when the guy was groundhog hunting (totally legaley) in a field adjacent to a school yard and someone called the gestapo on him. Ended up being taken down in his driveway in front of his wife and kids by the swat team. After numerous court appearances and a lot of money spent he was found not guilty. Not 100% sure of all the details here but that is the general gist of the story, possibly someone else will chime in with more facts about this case. It pretty well ruined that guys life for a few years and maybe forever!
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

I hope he takes legal action and wins huge. The guy was bathing his children and had guns pointed at him for absolutely no reason according to the story.

I think you mean the Jonathan Logan incident. He sued and won BIG. The officers involved were literally hung out to dry.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

True enough - two sides to every story. Still, if even half of what he said was factual....gotta feel for a guy who gets a visit from the tactical unit during bath time.

did we read the same account?
Clearly read the guy failed to comply with the RCMP orders.
Blew off the first call, grabbed his phone to record instead of complying immediately.
RCMP had one ideal what the guy is doing behind the door for all they knew could be loading up.
where a bunch of RCMP shot out there fairly recently?
Think this has more to do some lawyer looking for a pay day.

We have people in the village near us claiming machine guns being fired off around town, the problem is that it was 5 shots then a break then 5 shots then a break then 5 shots. This was also in a town of a few hundred and you can hunt and shoot very close to it, your only restriction for hunting is the 400m to the church.
People who do not know would call on you for shooting because they are oblivious, the sad part is that the police also do not know.

Has too much time on their hands
What I'm reading is there is a dispute between neighbours and the neighbour found an excuse to phone the police and likely embellish the complaint as he saw fit. Police responded based on procedure and the information they had. Finsfurfeathers has filled in the rest.
