The simple answer is to hunt 'em.
If you're out to just see them and hour drive is all it takes. Every weekend in the fall got to watch my step when hunting woodcock to avoid stepping on moose turd.
Brother was finally able to get to cabin last week to check the cameras after vehicle issues kept him from getting there a month ago. Don't mind the date stamp as he didn't set them when he put them up last year.
hah i just went to look at a property in minden hills with my pops as we are looking to buy property. so many moose prints and skat. along with a bunch of bear prints.

yeah . see i thinik the main problem is they stay in the thick woods. how in the hell are they gunna know the population of the herd. the property we went to go take a look at has a couple lakes on it and cut trails. the deer flys were BRUTAL tho. hopefully the new survey mandatory report changes things with the amount of tags in those areas.
