Depending on how far north you intend to go,possible adverse weather will be a big factor in the tent you should use. I recommend that with 8 hunters, you take 2 tents, one for sleeping and drying clothes (nothing makes for a miserable hunt if you can't dry clothes) and one for a cook/lounge tent. Place them face to face and cover both with a large pool cover to keep everything dry. Coleman makes excellent large tents that meet the needs of fall camping.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Yep, Trimmers got it exactly right. One cooking tent and one sleeping tent. I don't know about managing a pool cover but make sure you have a fly over each tent.

Also I would recommend to have 2 person in each sleeping tent like this

can be used for smaller group hunts to...

I use one tent 16 X 20 . I have had up to 6 people in the tent. I have also used two 10 X 14 with a tarp between them for 4 people. I prefer the one big tent. With 8 people the 16 X 20 would be a little tight. I have seen groups using portable garages, and i like the idea. Any structure will work, put a old carpet down for a floor, pick a spot that water doesn't pool and no danger trees beside tent. Lightweight wood stove and all will dry.

Ahhh the best laid plans and then the one guy who snores like a Freight Train. Thank God I had the foresight to throw an air mattress pad in the back of the pick up with a cap.

8 people under one tent, even a 16x20,would be a nightmare imho. Not a good idea if you plan to remain friends after this hunt.
I’d suggest minimum of two 12x16 sleeping tents, plus either a 3rd cook tent or just a large tarp rigged up wall tent style with A-frames and a ridge pole for cooking/socializing.

Hunted out of a large army tent generally 6-10 guys came along. No issues. Beats having to set up 5 or 6 different tents in my opinion.
Had a wood stove in the tent nice little kitchen set up did most of the cooking outside on a barbecue
