Crossbow, compound, recurve, longbow, or all?
Who does what here?
I've shot traditional for about 45 years or so. My son Will loves his compound and shoots trad, but we also have a couple of crossbows and my daughter loves her longbows and recurves.
All can be great fun in my opinion and they all have their pluses and minuses and place in the woods.

Crossbow (excalibur) shooter for about 30 yrs...... Nothing beats a still hunt, walking through the forest spotting that deer before it spots you....... then trying to move in for the shot.... nothing is so exciting...

I totally agree with you on that one. I'm afraid of heights so It's always only been ground hunting for me.

Shot compound since day one. Never really had any interest in hunting with xbows, I've just always liked the process of shooting a bow. About a year and a half ago I dove head-first into traditional archery and have only used recurves and my RD longbow since. Can't see myself ever going back to a compound now unless i became unable to pull a stickbow, but who knows

Have two compounds, an xbow and trad bow and dont use any of them.
All my best deer spots we have a deal with our gang, noone bow hunts until after november gun hunt. So I save my tag til November. The last 3 years I've had my tag after the gun hunt....still dont go bow hunting lol. Rather waterfowl hunt I guess

I love my rifles and shot lots of game with them. I do have an Excalibur Equinox and hoping to one day shoot something’s with it.

I shot my friends long bow at stumps when we were young teenagers. Bought a 45# modified recurve after ranger camp when 16-17, never killed anything with it, just scared 'em. As I recall, the recurve didn't meet minimum pull requirement when I got around to thinking about big game hunting with a bow, so I picked up a low end crappy compound (with minimal let-off). Injured my left hand last August so picked up a used crossbow until I can get back to the compound (if ever). I love those October days looking for early season Bucks.
