    To the OP, I’m a long ways away and it most likely makes no sense for you but I have several plastic barrels you can have if you want to come get them.
    I love fishing but REALLY it is just a way to pass time until hunting season!!!!

    I don't think I said leave them in the woods. I said if for some reason the said individual DID abandon them then at least mother nature, over time, would take care of it. If someone like me found it - I haul it out none the less. I always take more to the dump then I ever bring. This works for me because if some lazy bear hunter left it then he's out of luck later. And It's garbage.

    I see Kijiji Ottawa has the blue 55 gal barrels for 15 bucks. Probably some listed in your area.

    I have been also using plastic barrels for years with the snap ring top......zero issues
    We have a chocolate factory near by that were more than happy to give them to us with chocolate remains in them!!!
