I've never done it. I'd love to try it sometime. We don't have many doves around here. I'll see a couple around the barnyard but that's about it.

Probably the best place for you to inquire about dove hunting would be under Migratory Birds. Dove hunting is govern by the Migratory Bird Conservation Act. Hope that is helpful.

You don't stop hunting because you grow old. You grow old because you stop hunting.

I am actually planning to go to huellette marsh on Thursday, I have got some decoys and a call(not sure if the call would do anything), first time going for it.

I've been out twice. Not a lot flying around me anyway.

I got one while in a lul during the middle of goose hunting a couple years back. The meat is grey, much like a quail.

Not enough around here for me to really get into it but they are fast and hard to hit.

I am with my stepson, his 1st year hunting and doves are a blast if you get a good field, I had a great field a couple of seasons ago so you might have noticed the spike on the stock markets in 2016 cause I went through a ton of ammo. If I get this field invest in some steel stocks as my kid is a worse shot then me, and I'm pretty bad.

We had a great shoot on opening weekend for doves. Like any other game bird you need to scout and be able to find big numbers feeding. Or I also like to find a roost area and pass shoot them travelling back (Careful not to get too close).
