I was at the G&H Decoy Factory in Henryetta OK yesterday. G&H Decoys are not "Made in China" like all the rest. They have motion decoys that swim, but no flapping or spinning wing decoys. The most interesting decoy they have( idea wise) is goose kites..

Like the concept, but design is not the best.

Answering the root of the OPs question:
Opinion- I feel most dont post anymore because there are a plethora of internet scouters and waterfowl hunting has unfortunately become a scathing competition.
Guys getting tires slashed at boat ramps, fist fights between hunters, purposely flaring birds going to another person's blind and not yours....

What happened you ask?

People hunting now feel entitled. Try to kick you off crown land as they've staked it as "their spot"
and let's be honest, the amount of "guides" that keep popping up is ridiculous.
Fun fact - posting pics of a 12ft tinny and mergansers in your bag limit dont make you a guide.

So yeah. Posting stories and pictures has essentially been an Avenue where "fanbois" and these pretentious characters try to find where you live and the areas you hunt.

I miss writing about my hunts. I still do, but they wont be seen here for the aforementioned reasons.

I used to love talking to guys at the ramp. With them luck, exchange contact info, try and make new hunting friends. .. now I put 2 trail cams in my truck to make sure nobody messes with my trailer or my tires because they're mad I got to "their spot" first.

It gets worse each year.

I dont understand why its become so aggressive. It's 6 ducks. Six little birds.... and guys have resorted to ramp shenanigans that could essentially kill someone.

Some of these guys have to give their head a shake.

So much truth said in that post, times have really changed and not for the better.
There seems to be very little respect for your fellow hunters, the game that they hunt or the environment.
That is why I do a lot of scouting, checking out small ponds on private properties, get permission to hunt there and reward the owner in some way that he/she /they appreciate.

I dont notice it any worse now adays. I can remember other camps threatening to burn our camp down if we hunted "their" crown land spots for moose hunting. Had a deer stolen right out of the barn about 20 years ago that my dad shot one shotgun hunt. I can remember my dad talking about catching guys stealing a moose out of the back of their truck in Red Lake back in the 80s that followed them from a logging road to the motel.

Just the other night I'm sitting on the shoulder of the road watching about 200 geese in a wheat field waiting for them to take off to find out where they roosted. Truck stopped behind me and he tells me he owns the field and he hunts it himself. Told him I was just watching and after about 5 minutes of talking he asked me if I'd like to hunt with them Saturday morning. I declined as I had other arrangements, But he didnt even know my name but offered to let me hunt which was nice. Same with coyote hunting, I will get ppl stopping when they see the dog box in my truck, tell me where they live and hunt and tell me to go head anytime.

It's the outfitter waterfowl guides that are ruthless, Threaten you, spread lies to land owners, paying landowners for exclusive hunting rights, scaring birds off fields that dont have permission. Thats the type of "hunters" I have problems with....the ones making money off it.

The ppl that bug me are the ones that ask my dad for permission to hunt. When he tells them that his 4 sons and cousins all hunt here they will say, " oh well I'll only hunt if they aren't here", or " I dont mind sharing"

Well, I for one, When I ask for permission I always ask if anyone else is hunting there already. If they say Yes then I will say Thanks, But I'm not stepping on anyone else's toes and it's not safe hunting where someone else might be.

One place I have I was carrying my coyote decoy under my arm across a wide open field at day break and I heard whistling. Look over and there's 3 guys with rifles sitting on the field edge watching me. They said farmer gave them permission the night before, he didnt mention I hunted there and said they didnt even know i was a person until I was about 100 yards away.....I would like to know how long they were looking at me threw their rifle scopes, How close was I to being shot? Still think about it everytime I cross a field at dark now

Years ago, you could leave your vehicle in a laneway "with permission", along the side of the road while you hunted without any worry about it being broken into and ransacked and goods stolen, you can,t leave decoys, ladder stands, cameras out as they get stolen.

We hunted coyotes without worrying about having our dogs stolen or your extra gun stolen from your vehicle.
These days, while your dogs are running a coyote, others have put their dogs down in front of ours.

It sure IS different now days.

Times have changed. The internet has changed. What used to be a smaller group of regulars has changed and the guys with good stories and tips don't post much anymore. Some have may found a venue that is well moderated with strict no "hot spotting" rules for posts and a group of like minded individuals who respect each other and post because they love the sport and camaraderie rather than for kudo's for their posts of successful bags.
Or they may have said everything they wanted to say and have lost interest in what was a novelty 15 years ago, in the same topics coming up over and over again and the same internet expert opinions being put forward.
Life's too short to argue with people you don't know on the internet.
