New Liberal gun-control policies coming soon, as firearms lobby gears up for a fight
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/gun...-ban-1.5290679
A re-elected Liberal government will ban some types of "assault-style" rifles, as well as introduce additional restrictions on where firearms can be possessed or stored, according to Bill Blair, who has been the party's pointman on gun control.

The planned measures will be announced "very, very shortly" as part of the Liberals' campaign platform, Blair said in an interview with The Fifth Estate.

"I have recommended that there are certain weapons that are currently not prohibited that should be prohibited, which means no one should be allowed to have those weapons in our society," he said
    ...
"That weapon was designed for — and has always been intended for — the killing of enemy combatants. It is not a toy," said Blair, who served as the minister for organized crime reduction under the last government.

You can read the rest .... the last statement could be used to ban a blunderbuss too.

BUT the end kind of summed up much of the sentiment...

As for Provost and Rathjen, they say they're going to keep using their voices, too, as they ready to mark three decades since the École Polytechnique shooting later this year.

"I think it's very sad that the witnesses and victims of the Polytechnique massacre still have to fight 30 years later to get in common-sense gun control," Rathjen said.

Like ethics, budgets, SNC, JWR he is changing the subject and in this case creating a divisive issue they can squeeze with lies and fear mongering to get votes....

    I also added it here,

Well it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, despite the assurances of a few on this site.

Last election I started a thread entitled “ Are you voting with your PAL” and the idea was are you voting with your firearms rights in mind ? Some got the message while others thought I was talking about using it as government issued ID.

There’s never been a more important time to keep it in mind.

There's only one thing firearm owners need to know. If voting Liberal, kiss your firearms and your hunting heritage good-bye....full stop.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

    From Caliber magazine...
"Blood pressure warning. Blair specifies that they are looking at 250,000 rifles moving to the prohibited list, but with only 75,000 ARs registered in Canada, that leaves quite a lot of mystery makes falling under the Liberal's "assault rifle" ban.

He also stipulates they will also revise storage laws to require all handgun owners to store their guns in safes."

Guess it's a good thing the libs will getting replaced by the conservative party. Nothing much too worried about as I believe the gun ban will reduce the votes on their side. They only have 4 or 5 sector's that will vote for a gun ban. There are many more people who will vote against it.

My opinion the gun ban will have a negative impact on the libs party win.

For instance how many oon this board are ok with a gun ban ??? The majority are against a ban . Others are already wanting turd boy out, let them continue their gun ban talk it will only help destroy them. [emoji106][emoji8]

The few folks on this forum doesn't add up to a pin drop of the electorate. I like your enthusiasm, but it's not reality. There are literally thousands and thousands of idiots out there who gobble this stuff up and think justeen is the 2nd coming.

No Kidding!. There's a helluva lot of them in the city of Toronto. So many idiots don't even care about voting away their own rights and freedoms, that others fought and died for them to have.

90% of this forum would be right if Center to one degree or another. Virtually all of Ontario except for two pockets tried to kick the provincial liberals out of QP for 8+ years.

    How’d that go?

Federal elections really are little different. East vs West, Rural/Urban. While it doesn’t hold true all the time, it holds true most of the time.

Ask anyone west of Ontario if they feel their votes matter. Elections are decided by the time polls open in Alberta.

They hate Ontario and Quebec for reasons. Truly hate, especially these days. And none more so than red Toronto....

    Blair is such a sack.
My .303 was good enough for the army, you don’t see many armies equipping troops with .223s. “Designed to kill people”.

Anyone else notice he had to mention Sandy Hook?

It's absolutely infuriating when Liberals try to drag US mass murder into the Canadian equation. Hopefully,it's because they're beginning to realize that's all they have left to obfuscate and obstruct a losing position and a sign of sheer desperation.
