Saw one Tuesday night. 615pm. 100 yards out. Dad says he heard one tonight behind him at 715pm.

Opening morning was warm and humid, didn't see anything. Going to try again tonight if it's not raining too hard.

I was out with a youth on opening day and had three deer at about 53 yds from tree stand. Young fellow wanted to shoot, but advised him of potential problems with a long recovery time and the heat, and distance involved. Young fellow understood and later advised that it was a good learning experience, but was just pumped to see the deer that close.
Advised that they never discussed hunting in the warm heat issues during hunter safety course.
Agreed that he will try another day to take one of them darned deer when it is cooler!!
Good kid!

I was out opening morning - I wait all year to hunt deer so I'm not going to wait for cold weather once the season arrives!
For anyone worried about game spoilage during warm temps, just bone out your deer and stick it in the fridge. Done it many times myself without issue, mostly on roadkill. If you need fridge space, make a post on here or elsewhere with your location, lots of hunters will gladly help out.
