Default Making friends and asking permission to hunt

Well folks... met a fellow Toller owner on Instagram. After chatting, turns out he lives 20mins from me. Has access to a couple thousand acres of hunting land, and happy to bring me along.

Corn and beans coming down soon where we hunt. Excited to fill the freezer.

I also stopped being a pansy and finally asked 2 different people for permission to hunt their land. One is 70 acres of forest, perfect for small game. The other 150+ of field and timber, full of deer.

I tanned some rabbit pelts from last season. Have a rabbit farmer asking me to tan more of her farmed rabbits and let me keep most of them. Learned how to butcher/process rabbits.

Got a smoker and now grilling and smoking up a storm.

The past year has been very good to me, except not having success in hunting. Lack of outings and lack of waterfowl/small game where I was going.

I hope the 2019 season is even better with some fruitful hunts.

That's the way to do it. I have spent this season mainly targeting crown land and public tracts trying to find opportunities. Knocking on doors is a struggle for me, I need to get over that hump too! It can get frustrating travelling afar in search of squirrels, never to find any; except when I arrive back at home of course.... Good luck!
