F-150 vs Silverado

In the market for a new truck. Im torn between these two. Any advice would be great.
My concerns are:
The Ford doesn’t seem to be as sturdy. Concerned about the aluminum body panels.
Resale valuation.
Also wondering about the V8 5.3 vs the v6 eco boost. How do they compare on fuel economy. Thanks.

Ford by a long shot. If you like to pay more at the pump, Chevy will make sure you do just that. Owned a Silverado for the last 7 years, never again....

Both are excellent trucks for the money. I'm partial to Silverado being a former employee of GM. Properly equipped,either one will fit your needs....key words being "properly equipped". The biggest mistake people make is expecting a 1/2 ton truck to do the work of a 1-ton.

Just as additional info. Im trading a 2016 Colorado. I owe 24 on it and getting a trade value of 28k. The chev has been a solid truck for me but has some quirks that I don’t like. Got nothing to compare it too but it does like its gas.

I’m a Chevy guy but I know have ford van for work with the eco boost and love the turbo power for merging traffic. Definitely not great on gas with a truck loaded with stuff. Also keep in mind the turbo rebuild if you plan to keep it. My new pick now is the ram hemi and I love it! By far the best ride and 12L on the highway and 14L in the city!! Effortless driving with a big motor. Rpms stay low even on hill climbs. Small motors in trucks drink more gas so don’t bother [emoji107]

Either is a good choice. If you asked me a year ago I'd have said to go with the Ford. This years GM/Chev is the first year since 04 they have actually built a real pickup.

I had a new Elevation this spring and loved it. You will not be disappointed in the power to the ground with the 5.3. Fuel consumption for me was 11 L/100km on the highway at a fair clip over the white sign recommendation and 15 L/100km idling all day and bobbling around the jobsite. I despised the auto start/stop but I'm just that way, I want to tell it when it can shut off.

My 18 Silverado gets about the same for mileage, you can do much better on cruise at lower speeds if that's your thing Haha

I've been a Chevy guy my whole life but Ford would be my second choice.
