Flushed 4 today and the hunting partner got one. No dog just some motivated hunters.

Don't tell me so. Figured with this weather birds would of pushed on. Ran south west today found enough for a good hunt.

I went for a grouse hunt this morning, flushed my first woodcock. Managed 4 Woodcock flushes total, not sure how many birds or if it was the same one? I sure didn't hit any. Simcoe county.

Hit it right yesterday. Perfect weather and the birds were "in". Forecast looks like a lot will be moving out

Looks like 7 is the new limit

. Been hung up on number 7 a couple times now did you stop early or ran out of steam?
We hunted about 4 hours, moved 40 plus birds. 14 was what we ended up with when we got back to the truck. If we had been out just to gas a limit we could have been done in an hour. We only shot birds the dog handled well and didn't shoot any we put up ourselves. When we got back to the truck the dog had had enough and we were happy with the day we had. Didn't feel the need to keep grinding it out. It wouldn't have added anything to our enjoyment of a perfect day to be in the uplands. Quitting 2 short almost felt appropriate. I wish them well on their journey south.....
Also picked up a sample for the WNV survey.

Looks like you guys had a great time be2man. Hoping the birds stick around a little longer.

We took about 50:50 hens to cocks, so should still be some trickling through for the next week or so, barring a deep cold snap
