Hi John, I hunt just north east of Chesley in 82A our gang of 11 only came out with a 6 point and a small spike buck. I really feel the numbers are down as I only saw 4 deer all season 1 Doe with 2 fawns and the spike I got on Wednesday morning. The weather didn't help much but i still think the numbers are low.

I expect the deer are in the unharnessed corn fields. Numbers are likely fine.
I shot a buck this week sitting by a partially harvested corn field. He came out of the corn responding to a grunt call
I had limited time to hunt this year due to farming activity. I saw this buck on camera twice in a field of corn we were harvesting so I decided to try and hunt for two hours Thursday morning. Shot him 12 minutes after opening time

    Oh and nice deer John

Great job from start to finish
I always find it funny how big fawns can look when they're running. I shot a fawn in front of the dogs a few years back, and I swore it was a big doe when I put the William's peeps on her. I'm sitting in my blind right now with my fingers crossed, but havnt seen anything yet.

    This isn't a test run................Enjoy er'.......

I agree with you mate. corn harvest is somewhat comparable to last year but alot of us around here have yet to get the corn off. Ive seen does but absolutely no bucks, but sign of them. It'd be nice to go in there after them but the twinrows basically act like a curtain all the way through.

I'm curious to see what happens now when the corn comes off... hopefully before christmas! :P

Have not seen any does (except during spring turkey hunt) on our spot in a couple of years. Partner and I took an 8 point and a 4 point Wednesday a m. Hanging and skinned by 4 in the afternoon

Sounds like a great time! 4 deer in one day, that would have been a hoot!
    Congrats and enjoy the venison!
