If you want a house friendly bird dog, you cant beat an English Setter. All business in the field and couch potatoes in the house. Mine insists on sleeping in bed with us. Better yet, buy 2.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I have been looking at English Setters for a while now, I think you guys have convinced me, can hang with me outside...camping and hunting, and keep the wife warm on the couch!! Win Win!

Careful with the camping & hanging part. These dogs are usually high prey drive big runners. My dog is either on leash or running/hunting when outdoors.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I can echo what Tim Tufts says "Best house dog ever" and I definitely recommend chatting with Tim about the breed, very knowledgeable.
TurkeyObsessed my Setter is exactly how you describe, doesn't leave my side and is very loyal. When I am outside, in the woods or going to town she always with me. If I am at work she keeps the wife and kids company on the couch or in the the bed. All attached pics are from when I was not home, she doesn't dare get on the couch or bed when I am around. Very smart breed, extremely happy with this dog.
