You can "cherry pick" all you want with how much damage each political party has done to your "privilege" of owning a handgun but to attack the Liberals all the time is just not right. We have a very eminent expert on here with respect to this topic and I am sure would be happy to answer any of your questions on the history of gun control in Canada.

I know of a retired Police Superintendent from Kingston,Jamaica, who with a hand picked group of serving officers could be seconded here for a few months and they would get the homicide rate down to 0%. Unfortunately we would have to give them immunity for how they would deal with the problem and that ain,t gonna happen.I am sure just the mention of TRINITY would have the the gang bangers handing in their guns at the nearest division.

The Liberals did not take away guns when they had 11 years of back to back majority governments, how come? If they wanted to ban anything they could have.

If we have another Danforth type mass shooting the Liberals backed by the NDP and Greens will indeed bring in some more legislation as they will be acting for the vast majority of Canadians.The Conservatives will mumble back and forth but in the end support it by doing nothing.Just like Harper did nothing in relation to this thread matter.

Sometimes things happen gilroy innocent people sometimes will be effected. When the guns are banned ,there will still be innocent victims taken . Sad but true



It's the doctors that really pushing lately they are tired of blood shed .

I guess if you were a doctor you might get fed up patching up gang bangers and sometimes innocent bye standers who are collateral damage.Maybe you would want to be operating on that car accident victim instead but cannot because another person just got shot. Politicians have a duty imposed on them to keep us safe and I believe we hunters should assist them by keeping our guns safe from theft,requesting access to guns we need to hunt and not going over board with our support for every weekend warrior who feels the need to have an Ar 15 with a banana clip on his shoulder.

That's what I'm trying to say even with a gun ban doctors will still be doing the same thing. You even say it will not really help much to ban them as the shootings will continue. Yes it will save a few but its all political lies if they think it will drastically change any. Many know the truth of what's happening and many dont have a clue what's going on the streets. So many dont even have a clue what's happening besides what they see on the news. For the doctors thinking that it will change has something coming to them.



So in the end when a ban solves little the people will loose faith in that particular riding lol. [emoji39][emoji2958] .

Just chiming in here on that last comment. I don't think people realize how easy it is to make guns if you are so inclined... Complex shop/machining equipment is getting more and more affordable as technology advances.

Also illegal guns sell for way more than legal guns so the incentive is there. If they arent getting stolen from legal gun owners they will either be smuggled in from the states or manufactured illegally and distributed from there.

Make whatever gun laws you want criminals will always have guns.

Whats going to do more would be cracking down harder on illegal gun owners...

And that is exactly where the market is going to go. The demands will still be there ,they will just need a few new sources to keep the market open. Those black market sources are already here in Canada so banning them will mean nothing.

Very true! Theres been a long history of gun control. Unfortunately the erosion has almost decimated the usages of guns. We may not see it in our lifetimes but be assured the ultimate goal is total disarmament. Nibble, nibble here and there until they are totally gone. Its the left against the right. We won’t be able to stop it. Once again it’s a scenario of one group of individuals rights or privileges being more important than our rights and privileges and we pay the price.
