Regarding these animals I hear they absolutely destroy the environment. Especially crops.
Just watch how the tables turn. Hunters now ask permission to hunt farmers lands. Obviously there are farmers and land owners that do no let people hunt their properties. Just wait, they will be begging people to hunt them.

This topic has come up a number of times. The number of hunters that want hog here is disgusting. They get permission to hunt farm land without ever lending a hand or tossing them a dime yet they are encouraging an animal that will destroy that farmers ability to make a living.

I think you may be confused on how many of us truly want them here.

There is a big difference between some of us daydreaming about hunting local hogs, and the touched individuals that given the chance would bring them here by the truck load.

Most are just dreaming, and watching the Panama Jack swirling in the coffee. When their done, there is no coffee and still no hogs.

If some low life wanted them here, all that would be needed is for a pig barn or two to be left open. If you know what I mean. With in two years the feral hogs running around would be as wild as you can imagine.

I am not condoning letting pigs escape don't misunderstand.

It's already happened decades ago, so where are all of them?By now we should be in a pig apocalypse in Ontario...lol

I still think your too worried about nothing.
Given the choice, most of the hunters talking about hog hunting in Ontario would not really want them here.

Now the tree huggers are more likely to push for laws to protect and demand the reintroduction of the "Native" hog population. You..like. ..because if there is no hogs...it's like..you know..the hunters killed them all. Just like they did to the mammoths, and the Dinosaurs.


P.S. yes I would love to hunt Raptors in Ontario. Do I now have to fight with you over how bad they would be for the farmers?

i shot one and my girl friends dad shot another when we recovered mine, second one had hair up like a dog ready to charge from what i could tell and was shot at 5 yards, these were shot in nolfolk county, the boar weighted 185 pounds. Probably the only 2 around as no more have been sighted this was the week after thanksgiving and now the corns down so better odds of spotting them if there was more where we shot these 2

Please post the pictures here,too. I'd like to see what they were...escaped farm hogs or the real deal Wild Boars. Hopefully,they're the former and not the latter and .270Win is what I'd be using on them,without doubt.
