Default DU not supporting Gun owners

    Kind of disappointing.....

From the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Right (CCFR) FB page

Lately, there has been an incredible awareness movement from all members of our community.

From different national gun organizations, Provincial Wildlife Associations, retailers to hunting associations and to individuals, we were all united in an effort to demand the government to respect the appropriate parliamentary process.
The Liberal Government's plan to ban semi-automatic weapons using an order is anti-Democratic and frankly anti-Canadian.

We have reached out to our precious friends and defense partners all over the country to ask them to send a united message.

All answered the call, except one.

Last week ducks unlimited Canada leaders met with our vice president of public relations, Tracey Wilson.
She simply asked them to share and spread the petition www.e2341.ca, but she was told resolutely that ducks unlimited Canada does not defend the possession of guns, hunting and that it is an organization strictly dedicated to the Conservation of wet areas.

In recent years, Tracey has been one of the speakers invited at unlimited Canada fundraising, working on our common cause; she was shocked by their refusal to defend Canadian gun hunters and gun owners .

We share many members with unlimited ducks from coast to coast and beg them to unite with the whole community and respond to this simple request.
    Ducks Unlimited (DU) response.

Ya I have been following Kelley Wilsons posts on this issue. This is why I am not a member of DU.

This could seriously impact their membership and revenues. I hope it does.

It’s pretty sad. How many DU embossed shotguns are out there?

Why are people surprised when DU Canada didnt support the fight against bill c68 the long registry. Since then I have been a member of Delta Waterfowl a true supporter of duck hunters, and a conservation organization

DU has received over 37 million dollars from the Canadian government over the last three years. Tax payer dollars. Of course they wouldn't want to be seen going against the Feds squirrely ideals , even though it would be the right thing to do.

    Ducks Unlimited (DU) response.

Not to be critical, but,it's important to note that this cited response is from DU America. Ducks Unlimited Canada is dodging the issue with a classic cop out. They're trying to suck and blow at the same time. They hold themselves out to be a hunting/conservation organization, but, when it comes down to standing up for their members in the trenches, they turn tail and hide. There's no way in this issue that they can sit on the fence. They're either in or out,no two-way street this time. It's impossible to be a little bit pregnant.
Now,DUCanada sits on the Firearms Advisory Board. If they don't want to advocate for hunters on firearms, why are they there?

If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Well that's the last time I support these yahoos.

I'll be calling them tonight to come rip every damn DU nest box, sign off our property if that's the way they stand. I've supported Delta more the past few years anyways.

There are 200,000 names on this petition against the Government proposed changes but there are 2.2 million licensed gun owners in Canada.

I think if I were you guys to be a lot more worried about the other TWO MILLION having not signed the petition.

I fully support their stance and can see me having them put up some duck nesting boxes on my ponds.

Please note that the shotgun in the middle of that picture will be one of the first on the ban list if they move beyond banning existing restricted.
