Problems with Spypoint trail cameras?
Has anyone had problems with Spypoint trail cameras? I'm not talking about the cellular cameras I know there has been a lot of issues with them.
I had a Force 11D and a Force XD. They would work sporadically. Sometimes for 30 minutes, sometimes for a few hours and sometimes not at all. After I suspected there was a problem I set them up in high traffic areas around the house so I know that they should be detecting things if they were working. I contacted Spypoint. They had me try a few things but that didn't fix the problem. The cameras were out of warranty but they sold new 2 new 11Ds at a discounted price.
I set them up using properly formatted SD cards that met their specifications. I downloaded the newest firmware version as they suggested and they aren't working either. They are trying to help but really not getting me anywhere. I can't put them out in the bush and check them a month later to find out they stopped working after 30 minutes or didn't work at all. I have Wild Game Innovations camera that were at third of the price and they work flawlessly.
Just looking to see if anyone else has had similar problems.
Thanks
Dave

I've had two Spypoints. The first one sounded like yours; Totally unreliable....an 80lb bag of corn was eaten over a week and it only took 1/2 dozen pics. Someone stole it and I actually felt sorry for him.
My second one (came in package deal) , is also a 'Force XD' . No where near same caliber as my 'Moultrie A-40'. Great pics off the camera, when it decides to take them...but does miss a lot of pics; ie a fresh scrap 10yds away..it totally slept thru the whole thing.
I use it where I don't really care to see every deer that uses the trail. As long as I get a few pics during a week.
As long as it does the bare minimum, I'll keep using it. Wouldn't recommend to buy one though.

Spypoint cameras suck. Been there done that. Multiple failing cameras. Send them back they can’t fix and then they sell me more cameras at discounted rate and they don’t work. Terrible product.....bought cheaper browning cameras and haven’t looked back. Buyer beware spypoint are terrible.....

I have had decent success with Spypoint and have 4 of them now. The 2 older units have been pretty good with one now not keeping the correct date / time. My Spypoint Evo cellular has worked pretty good up until this past season. I couldnt get the camera to send pics? One thing for certain is their customer service is terrible. Now that being said I have the Spypoint solar camera and it has been excellent. I plan to buy another one when I find the right deal. For me every camera brand seems to crap out sometimes sooner than later. I think they have a hard time with our weather. It sure is frustrating and expensive...

I've had 5 or 6 spypoints. 1 was sent back and they sent me a new camera. But they always took lots of pics. The older ones didn't take good night pics, very blurry if the deer is moving and could never count antler points. The only one I still use is an 11D and it takes hundreds of pics every week over a mineral fountain and the pics are better quality than the older ones. Still no where near as clear as the primos cams I run but has worked well for me the last 3 years.

This is exactly what I'm going through. They seemed to get to a point where they couldn't suggest any sort of possible fix so they stopped answering my e-mails. I kept hounding them and I finally got an answer from a different person who is saying my case has been transferred to the exchange program agent since they no longer make the camera. One thing I can tell you for sure is if they suggest I pay more money to get into the newest model that's not going to happen.
