Looks like the party hunting rules are staying the same. Proposed changes that were not approved:
More restrictive party hunting rules for moose hunters
After consideration of comments received, the current party hunting rules for moose hunters will be maintained.

So, if 10 guys in a group apply for 10 years as individuals now according to the new rules and each accumulates 10 points and the draw for the bull moose requires 10 points are they all eligible for a tag? Obviously the majority would decline maybe keeping 2 tags so what happens with the surplus tags? Is there a secondary draw for others in that WMU?
It makes no difference if you applied in a group or individually. You still get a point for each year you didn’t get drawn. It will be interesting to see how the actual draw plays out...

It sounds to me that the cost of a moose hunt has gone up....15 to apply, 35 for a licence, then more for a tag if successful ???
Would it not be $15 each year until you are drawn, then you pay $35 for your license and $XXX for your tag. If you are joining a group then you can apply at $15 and pay $35 to hunt on a group members tag. I bet you could also pay $35 to hunt on a group members tag without applying, as the case may be.

I really like this, keep the calf/cow and calf tags low for a while to get the numbers back up and adjust them based on localized populations, just as we do the antlerless deer tags.

The $200 for a bull does not seem like a lot to me, this is similar to the Yukon system, except in the Yukon you pay a harvest fee after you get an animal.

I just hope this starts to bring back the numbers.

Anyone know if the dates of the seasons got pushed back to late October?

Yes, I guess that would be the case. So it’s not as bad as I thought.....

That's the way I understood it. So instead of not going moose hunting for $60 on a calf tag, I can not go moose hunting for $15 until that time when successful in the draw.
