I'm not yet convinced total chaos will take over south of us. After the shock sets in and people start to accept what they cant control, hopefully peace will prevail and people and countries will join and work together as a whole considering this is a global problem.

I heard that copious amounts of Guiness and Irish Whisky prevents COVID-19....from a real live Leprachaun,,,,really....no really......and if it doesn't,we won't care. Happy St.Patty's Day everyone.

Trimmer, legislation aside, do you really think there are enough police and armed forces to enforce it ? I guess maybe if it were concentrated in the urban areas.

This is not meant in a “smart” tone, I realize you and a few others are retired cops. Interested in what you think.

Under the EMAct,all civil rights are suspended. Curfews would be the first step along with "shelter-in-place" directives. Mobility could be stopped in it's tracks. When the population is at home off the streets, anyone venturing out would be quickly apprehended. With modern surveillance techniques,it won't be that difficult. It's a real brute of a law. I really hope it doesn't come to that, but, when PM Socks has mentioned it more than once, you never know. Remember who the law enforcement guru is?

While I certainly hope it doesn't come to this, there are a few people I've spoke to, via FB or on the phone, that still haven't figured out that self isolation is an important key to conquering this virus. This would force them to toe the line and take it a bit more serious. That can only be a good thing. I suspect this is what the govt is looking at if the numbers of dolts out there don't soon tuck their arse at home and stay there.

Actually no....who are we calling the law enforcement guru ? Had the Conservatives been in power I might have guessed Fantino

FFS, what is wrong with people? We have food, shelter, water, grocery stores with more food in them than not aside from certain items. Supply chains remain in place, there is fuel for the trucks, we do not have roaming bands of vandals wandering the streets. On a scale of 1-10 of what is possible this is barely a 2.

If this type of panic and anxiety is created by a simple virus that most people won't get and most of the people who do get it will survive I'd hate to see what would it would be like if something truly serious took place.

Dont want to accept the reality of what is going on and how millions globally are going to die. You will realize in another month how serious this actually is and how many will become infected. I feel sorry for people like yourself who cant grasp reality of what's happening around the entire world.
