From what I've read,the only reason the Italians are balls deep in it is because they chose to ignore it at the outset until it came right up in their faces. We were,too,but,not to such a great extent. I'm kind of curious why countries with tropical climates don't seem to be in as serious condition. Maybe,we should hope for a early hot summer.

Really,fish,that was nearly a month ago when information was coming from sensationalist media which was largely BS. Now,we have much more accurate data from reliable medical resources. Most reasonably intelligent people have seen through the media noise and are adjusting accordingly.

Just ignore him, he has nothing to contribute and his sole task seems to be to distract from the fact the Lib gov't are incompetent and liars. More people have been killed walking in Toronto in a year as compare to COVID-19.

The media and Libs have done nothing to contribute to it seems so often and the results are toilet paper hoarding and panicked shopping ! The few voices of common sense and planning are essentially ignored it seems!

The LIbEralS have no issue with screening legal firearm owners daily, screening and searching people leaving on a plane to make sure their hand sanitizer isn't too big etc. but will not screen people entering Canada to see if they have a fever... unlike even the small airports in Pakistan are doing according to the woman interviewed getting off the plane from Karachi

I'm glad he came around to a better opinion ... kind of just like me, and probably 80% of the population here. No wonder we thought it was blown up at the beginning ... I mean, who actually believes the media these days?

On this one, I too thought we were over-reacting ... it's unfortunate what's happening in Italy, but the world has now seen what can happen ... that sure got everyone's attention. In the USA, see pictures of Clearwater Beach just last few days ... ask yourself if those people (on the beach) really are learning from the situation in Italy ... I still see lots of people moving around here. So although we may slow the spread ... right now ... I can't see it slowing down by more than 20% maybe 50% at best ... still way too much interaction. So I'm not expecting it to be great here in a few weeks from now ... Ontario had 12% more confirmed cases in ONE DAY ... that's a pretty drastic growth rate ... Italy had 475 deaths yesterday (insane) ... and they are probably today going to have more deaths in total than China has had to date.

Anyhow, I don't really like that this thread has turned into something to crap on people because of difference of opinion, or "I told you so" ... whether the threat is real or not ... we ALL know the economy is taking a butt kicking ... and we are going to pay the price for that later ... so we should rather get into a "helpful/resourceful" blog .... like where to find important stuff, and how to do/produce stuff at home ... whether it be temporary or for the long term.

I don't know about that. Our governments were a tad slow on the uptake,but,things are starting to move pretty quick,now. Shutting down the borders and limiting travel will go a long way. If there's no improvement,shelter-in-place will be next.

The cases and deaths in North America is going to rise huge and fast in the next days/weeks. Many are still out and about doing there normal routine, many still down south soaking up sun yet to return. Flights have been returning with cases onboard. Most still could care less and live on normal, lots still going to work and kids out partying. This will cost us dearly....I wished it wasnt true, but the numbers don't lie.
