250 something cases in Ontario and 22 hospitalized.
That should help some people understand the seriousness of this. What happens when thousands are involved there will be thousands also hospitalized. No way our healthcare system can handle the extra pressure .

841 confirmed Canadian cases
13 deaths.
I'm with oaknut
It's the governments way of a population control. They knew the seriousness yet continued to let it slide right into Canada they choose to shut down schools before any major border issues. Like a week or 2 would it of really mattered if they sealed the border early. Now everything is sealed oh wait only after the cant find all the invisible viruses. Who knew that would of happened. Had better odds of finding a pin in a bail of hay.

I'm in the same position I was supposed to start working again in a 2 weeks but they are pushing it back till may now. Then who knows when calls were coming in canceling left right and center last week.
Already been doing nothing but fishing the past few weeks lol. Looks like I have many more weeks of fishing. I told my daughter today that we will enjoy the river this year for sure if we're aloud out side of our houses.
Many are going to be in the same boat.
Might help a friend with the clean up this spring but other than that I have no idea what to do. I doubt now will be a time for hiring.
Going to be an interesting year that's for sure. Work loads already cut In half this year small business that hires half dozen people a year is already planning a single crew this year. Crazy stuff happening in 2020.
Thank god for my wife or we would be in a pickle soon.

Fish food.,
Sorry to hear that.
The reality is the peons are going to bear the brunt of this. But this time around, it could truly snowball....
How many seasonal workers for example are now screwed. EI, is either done. Or soon to be....
I know for example many LCBO part timers have their hours gutted over winter. Many go on EI to get through the winter. Feck, that describes a lot of small town Ontario. Now, consider how many of them, are older and maybe have a spouse at home that’s “high risk”. They going to go take a job for say $15-18 an hour, if it puts them at risk to bring it home????
I thought about volunteering somewhere that I could help out. Till my fiancé reminded me, if I bring it home...
I read an economist report today, that delved into some of the aid announced by the feds.
I’ll just copy one of the last paragraphs. Pay special attention to the last sentence. It’s is bang, spot, on.
I might offend some, sometimes. I regret that at times. But I call spades spades.
Since 2008, when many in same boat got crushed, and haven’t recovered..we’ve done jack. Made som things worse in fact...
in 3-6 months time. “Teachers” ( note quotes) or for many, life might be somewhat back to normal...might...
“In summary, these are some important measures from the federal government. They are not perfect, but time is of the essence. We can’t sweat the small stuff when we’ve laid off the entire retail, food and hospitality sectors in a single week. The effects of keeping them off work for only a few weeks will be economically catastrophic. There has been a focus on sickness benefits for those in self-isolation thus far and that’s important. However, it’s soon going to become a sideshow to massive unemployment.”
Coulda shoulda woulda

We are in an ok position
But I have a feeling many are not . Feel sorry for the ones who can't afford it. Or the stress its causing to so many .
I'm not stressed yet but maybe next month I will be . This is not just going to be a few weeks or a month. We will be lucky to the golf courses open by late summer. Restaurant closed for months this is only the beginning .
Look what China did to solve the problem drastic changes . They had zero new cases today and they are also almost all cleared up. And it took a long time .
