Its definitely not a good thing but what are they going to do?

That's 1100 caes that they have tried to stop or find to slow the spread.

If we just let it blow over without any restrictions that would put us at a very high death rate that could reach around 6 percent death rate. I remember hearing a few weeks back that they are short on ventilators well by the thousands well our government as of the other day only 500 lol. That should save not even 1 person at each hospital. If it gets as bad as Italy here our death rates will be close to that as our healthcare system can't handle it. It will also come down to who do we save and who dies.

My wife's grandmother is 96 you think she be put on the saved list? She has many years left as most of family lives into 100

Uncontrolled would be devastating to so many . Our systems cant handle this large spike in respiratory problems

Not to mention just being with your group is already frowned upon. How can you be "socially distant" driving and being with your group on a hunt? The whole point of this is to your limit your interations to as few people as possible (ideally only those in your home).
Turkey season is coming up, and outdoors hunting rather than in stores and malls IS being “ socially acceptable” as far as I’m concerned!
I only go by myself or with my grandson, not a group, so I don’t feel it will be any real problem.

I agree 100% Turkey hunting is a solitary sport for me, and with everything going on out there this gives me all the more reason to keep it that way. I was talking to the farmer and he told me he is not going to hunt this spring (he is just not into it this year), so that leaves me and one other guy to share 550 acres.......I think we will be good!

1100 "known" cases. If you've been paying attention, that number is 4 or 5 days old, because that's how long the turnaround is on test results. Not everyone is being tested, as a few of our members here can attest to.

That number is in all likelihood closer to 5000-10000 at the moment.

Italy has been in lockdown for nearly a couple of weeks. Do you think they imposed theirs on time?

My prediction is 2000 by Monday and 4000 by Wednesday 9000 by next weekend.

I too, think this thing is going to get far worse before it gets better. The cases show no slowing down any time soon.

Locking people in their homes is not a healthy option. Even california that issued a shelter in place is saying get outside for a bike/run/walk, just keep your distance. Downtown Toronto may be a bit of an issue, but 95% of this country has lots of space to be 6' apart from people outside your family.

I'm in 2 week quarantine since we were in South Carolina when this went crazy. We were isolated there remote camping. Drove straight home only stopping for gas and was very careful there. Still self isolating as its the responsible thing to do, but that doesn't mean I didn't go out for a 12k run yesterday. There is no risk there. Working in the yard when it was warmer as well.

People need to use some common sense and keep their distance. If these entitled people keep being stupid and the gov't forces a total lockdown things are going to go from bad to worse. Be smart, not selfish and socially isolating is enough to slow this thing down. It will never be stopped as people need to eat and are going to go to the store.

Locking down is not a good option in my mind, in fact I think it will do much more harm than good.

The reason for lockdowns is because a certain percentage of the population is too GD stupid to listen to recommendations. It only takes a small percentage of people being stupid to infect the rest.

That being said, you're right, new problems will definitely arise from lockdowns.

I was referring specifically to getting in a vehicle with other people, driving several hours, then being in close quarters with them at a camp/ cabin/cottage of some sort. Obviously turkey hunting from home is different.
