New idea for folks with limited mobility
This stand looks like a brilliant idea! This setup should be far safer for anyone, really, especially those with mobility issues.
Looking at it I would expect the cost to be far greater.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

What a great idea if you have private property and can leave it out. Not something you'd consider 'portable'. No info on what the power supply battery is..dead lifting 250 lbs up 16' will take a lot of torque...but the company's website FAQ does answered one of my questions.
How long does the Power Source in the Tree Runner Series I last?
It is our finding that the battery will get you in and out of the Tree Runner Series I between 12-15 times. Should your battery run low on your ascend, you will always have enough amperage left to get yourself out of the tree.

Neat idea. My concern with the mechanism in our northern climate would be forest debris and especially ice build up in the track.
It would stall out and hopefully on the way up and not down.

Valid concern...our climate sure tests the best of engineering. However a positive aspect of Climate Change is that we rarely have snow down for deer season, rifle anyway.

Yes, I'm sure snow, ice and cold may stop this up pretty quick.
Just thinking from a position of not being able to use a stand otherwise. I'd prefer being able to hunt the early season than not at all.
My thoughts are on how loud it would be hoisting my butt up in the air.

I imagine if there's a strong enough market, the design will improve and overcome any issues, it looks like it's slightly ahead of the homemade stage at this point. I would wonder how well a person could lift those rails themself if they are not strong enough to climb a ladder. At this point I'd say you'd need assistance installing it in many situations.
Glad to see somebody thinking of improving people's accessibility especially wounded veterans as they mentioned he would be donating stands to.

I think I heard on the video it takes 4-5 guys to set it up. I would think a couple bohunks could do it

Truth be told that I have shot just as many deer sitting on the ground than a tree stand. I routinely drive right up to them with a UTV as well.
So, the point is that if a mobility impaired person wants to be successful he should set up in an area conducive to his / her situation. Really no need for expensive hardware.
I mean, if a person can't set up or climb a regular stand how will they handle a deer when it is down?
My UTV has a wireless remote winch. Used it this afternoon to handle a couple of pines hung up in the bush and pulled them down.
I was thinking how great it would be to attach a pulley in a strong branch on a tree and winch up a small platform with me sitting on it.
I'm just too chicken little now to try that stunt and will take a ground stand thank you very much....lol

I physically can't use a tree stand, so I just setup on the ground and my son sets up in one of my ground blinds. we have got 10 deer in the last 5 years. So I have to agree you don't need to spend a lot of money on fancy stands. Not saying a tree stand isn't or won't make things easier.
