Boatering Non-Essential Travel
I didn't catch this on any threads.....sort of makes Marinas being closed a moot point
NEWS RELEASE
ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE
************************
The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind boaters that all non-essential travel is being discouraged by the Ontario Ministry of Health at this time, including travel by water.
Though the air temperature is rising, local waters are still icy cold. Survival time is greatly diminished for someone immersed in cold water, but if you must be on the water, here are a few tips for cold water safety:

Yup, and some will say 'discouraged', is not law, so I am going anyway.

Yep,me,too, because the Premier announced that seasons would open on schedule which is a month away. My bet it the pressure will be insurmountable by then to re-open the province or face massive civil disobedience. No matter what, there's a limit to everything,Covid-19 or not.

Maybe that is why the military is gearing up? Take away our jobs , close our schools, parks and business , but don't you dare postpone our fishing. Does it seem as selfish to you, as it does non-fisherpeople?

There's a pretty significant difference between someone going fishing and a school packed full of germ harboring kids.
Non fisherfolk walk their dog, go for a jog or sit on their back deck. Do you think those selfish non fisherfolk can see the difference between walking their dog alone and fishing alone?
I'm sure it will come back to safety however, I'd bet more people are bitten by dogs each year or trip and fall/get hit by a car while out for a jog than people fall out of boats and require medical attention.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

I get the rationale of shutting down possible areas of congestion to stop the spread of the virus, What I don't get is why not publish the movement of positive test cases. 500 plus new positives in Ontario yet no mention of where or who so other possible contacts can protect themselves. In this gps enabled device society we live in isn't it possible to know possible tracts of the virus? Would better enable targeted isolation as opposed to shutting everything down indefinitely

Ya, I think they dropped the ball on this one for sure...... They need to concentrate on looking after them a little better...

Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
