.I don't think you should be making a blank statement like that.

Isn’t it ironic that the biggest infringement on our rights during this pandemic are by the lowest level of government. Glad I live in a township with common sense. Boat launches are open, walking trails open, park facilities like playstructures, gazebos Etc are closed as per the provincial order but everything else is pretty normal; people out jogging, boating, fishing, hiking, walking all while social distancing. Imagine that, adults being able to practice personal hygiene and take care of themselves without a nanny state.

How do they do that social distance (2 metre rule) using public transit...... I doubt they can do that properly..... I think only recently they started to block off seating to keep people from being too close.... But those buses only get cleaned at the end of the day, lots of people touching things throughout the day, that can`t be good......

Presently, there are no Orders, dealing with social distancing, or nonessential travel. There is an Order preventing gatherings of more than 5 people.
I have heard some horror stories of bogus charges being laid, due to misinformation by LEOs or lack of understanding of the Act.
I hope people go to court to straighten these out !!

I'd dearly love to see the wording on a ticket and read the supporting evidence on the charge report. If these tickets were ever taken into a court clerk's office,I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't withdrawn on the spot. As Woodsman stated, these are merely "guidelines" suggested to be followed. That's a far cry from enacted legislation and Police can NOT make up violations as they go along.

Its old news but it does indicate your previous post was correct and that the charges laid were under the emergency management and civil protection act.

Trimmer wanted to see an example of such a ticket, am I still allowed to post it for him SIR?

How about a picture of the whole ticket?
They got ticketed for being in a closed park as an authorized order under the act.

I honestly wish it could be that way, but this is a case of how a few individuals ruin it for the majority. A few individuals (I can easily point out teenagers, but even some adults) don't really care about the risk, so they meet up, make out, have parties, etc. and put a lot of other people at risk. Government is now having to make by-laws to stop this ... and yes, it's a bit of a slap in the face to the rest of us mature people. In fact, when I go running, it's hilarious ... if I see people ahead, they move to the other side of the street ... even though I'd run around them with at least 3m to 4m distance between us. They end up 15m away ... people are more than responding to the need to distance, no one is telling them to stay 15m apart ... they do that on their own!

Anyhow, we aren't going to change the laws anytime soon. You should hope it stays that way in your town ... but if they get a few COVID cases ... they may reconsider.
