The By-Law officer did not state or accuse them of breaking the social distancing (2m) by-law ... they stated they needed to get off the property ... implying they could roller blade just not on the property. The property was closed due to the PROVINCIAL ORDER (it says right there Glen Abbey Community Center) all public venues need to close and people are not permitted to use them or be situated on their premises. The municipality actually had no choice in the matter. It comes from the province. The dad was being a di*k ... yes, he asked a question ... but there's posters everywhere on the center doors, light poles, etc. that make it clear the venue is closed. Then he "asks" a question ... I wasn't there but I'm sensing from the article the officer gave him sufficient warning, and he was just being a little too stubborn about it. What some people don't understand is the laibility the government takes on if these orders are not enforced. All you need is for an officer to turn a blind eye, then somebody else claims they got COVID at the facility, and the cops were being complacent ... $1 million lawsuit ... lawyers will be all over that! From what I've seen, officers have been giving a lot of warnings, which tells me they aren't pounding people, they are trying to do this as nicely as possible.

Trimmer wanted to see an example of such a ticket, am I still allowed to post it for him SIR?
Yes, but the issue was whether Oakville in fact had a social distancing (2m) by-law ... they do. I have heard (hear say) that warnings and possibly tickets were given on the QEW highway off ramps in Oakville for this by-law. Cops were pulling over vehicles with multiple occupants, and asking for proof of residence. If they did not belong to the same household, they were either warned or fined, as they were not maintaining a minimum distance of 2m within the vehicle, passenger seat is only 1m away from driver seat. They 100% will be able to enforce that kind of ticket ...

They got ticketed for being in a closed park as an authorized order under the act.
I suppose they did not want the full ticket and personal identifiers there.

Or they tried to hide the location of the infraction which would show they were in a closed park.

Sorry, when I wrote that, I didn't direct it to you. I was working out (in my own head) and trying to show others why there was so much confusion and people believe it was just rumour that oakville was issuing tickets for not social distancing ... the news is the culprit here! That was not directed at you, I'm just reacting to the way the news twists everything to sensationalize things ... getting tired of their lies.

The story did indicate they were in an empty parking lot of the Glen Abbey Community center.

Thanks anyway,Gilroy, but, posting the ticket isn't necessary. If MarkB says the guy was in a closed area,a bylaw officer gave him every opportunity to simply leave before finally writing him up,I'll certainly take his word for it. Some people are their own worst enemy when dealing with LEO's,right?.

I think it was one of them "attitude adjustments tickets".
