I am expecting trouble tomorrow. I just got permission on the farm south of my own property. The owner does not live on the land and the house is abandoned. I have asked before but the owners wife does not like hunting. I have respected their wishes, I have other spots, but I have occasionally seen and heard other guys hunting there. I called him again this spring and after a friendly chat he changed his mind and said I could go. (A lesson I learned early in my sales career, never assume the first NO always means no.) I told him I know other guys have hunted there over the years but he said he has given no one permission. I have him in my contacts on my phone so could call him if I run into anyone but I think I will try and settle it diplomatically and not bother him. I am afraid if he sees the whole thing as a hassle I could lose my new gained access.

That happens far more often than guys realize. I know of a few fabulous local deer spots that hunters have ruined their permission to hunt on through their squabbles and involved the owners.

I know one land owner maybe 10-12 clicks down the road last I heard he has 229 permission slips out

Confronted 2 trespassers at 630 am opening morning that walked into my set up. I waited until they were nice and close before i stood up and gave them a piece of my mind. Scared the crap out of them and sent them packing. Still managed a jake, 8 mins after I confronted them LOL

Crazy. Some people just have no idea how close they can come to a disaster. Congrates on the bird.
