There are two kinds of turkey hunters - those that have missed a bird and liars - LOL. Yep......I put a scope on my turkey gun about 10yrs ago after missing on a couple of nice birds and have never looked back. I started turkey hunting with fiber rifle sights (crap), then went to a Red Dot on my Winchester 1300 which was an OK set up bit I did not like the idea of the batteries because I forgot to turn it off a few times. Then when I picked up my Benelli I just went with a 1-4 X20 scope - nice and clear and has never failed me.

I put a Bushnell red dot on my 20guage when I started Turkey hunting years ago.
Best 80.00 I ever spent and I have never missed a bird yet! Knock on wood!!! Lol
