Well considering we are on a hunting forum talking guns, why would we divert away from that topic.

Do you think that taking away 12,000 licenses did nothing for prevention?

    Maybe Gilroy.

Perceptions in the public. Are heavily skewed by lying politicians ( do you know any honest ones), lying or misleading police/police chiefs, anti gun lobbyist ( do you know any honest ones)

And they are very susceptible to that BS, because they don’t know a lot about firearms or laws, or the source of the problems. Most of us grew thinking Santa Claus was real too. Because people told us so...

95% of them don’t read half the stuff they should read. Our soceity has never been so well informed and so ill informed at the same time...And only read when headlines...No that’s not the right name either. When the click bait is

    Madman shoots 22
    Shootout at Jane/Finch.
    Assault rifle

And then people like Blair, JT others get their faces and lies in the media.

    Just saying.

    Wedge issue
    “Yep”

    Gilroy.
As a cop, a boots on the ground cop, especially one that spent time between Parliament and River, Gerrard and Queen.

Would you rather have .223s taken from people who are rarely around those areas. And only once in a blue moon cause trouble.

Or $50,000,000 every year, for 20 years for more boots, more intelligence. And let’s sweeten the deal. Carding back? I think we all know, what you want.

The more time, effort, resources, howling at politicians for do no good measure. The less there is for what you want, and the longer you will wait for it..

So join us, help us educate the public

How exactly would you achieve this if you were the boss.
Ya didn't you notice or government was mad when they wanted to send us troops near by.

We wouldn't want to slow cocaine and prohibited fire arms coming in the government needs the money. Many pay taxes on the cocaine coming in . As long as the government is making money tho lol.

How quickly do the lads and ladies on this forum forget and then they complain.

ON THIS VERY FORUM WHEN WE WERE DEBATING THE SCRAPPING OF THE LONG GUN REGISTRY (GW AND yourself included) SHOULD REMEMBER I SAID THE FOLLOWING "Gun owners should be seen to be reasonable and who will accept their responsibilities, for ownership, storage and so forth. For the most part almost every one of us complied and went along with the registry.

Then some bright lads on the pro gun side aided by Mr Harper decided this was there wedge issue, divide and conquer and win an election.

So you won, BUT I also told you that you might win the battle but lose the war AND they would come back at you with ban's on firearms.

    I rest my case.

P.S. One of our own eminent forum members is out there somewhere and I would leave the task of educating the public in his hands.

Well,I gotta hand it to you,Gilroy. When you're right, you're really right. This current government is taking idealogical, vindictive politics to a whole new level we've never seen before, all driven by a small very vocal cadre of gun control adherents. For Canada, politically, that ain't good.
