Yes we do know the Shooter did not have a license the RCMP stated it and you know that yourself it has been posted in threads you have been engaged in.

The 12,000 who lost their licenses, there is no stat,s I can see on how many people they killed. But you miss the whole point of prevention of crime,so maybe you should ask "how many crimes were prevented by these licenses being revoked".

There is a whole bunch of gun rights groups playing from the NRA model that should be taking some of the blame here. They want to drag all hunters into their own fight with the government even although some of us do not want to go there.Do any of you folk's believe that big vote Provinces like Ontario and Quebec are going to get pushed around.

I can engage in any number of threads but the RCMP has made various claims about the license,a quick check right now reveals:
"Meanwhile, RCMP have said they believe most of the Nova Scotia gunman’s weapons were obtained from the United States. Investigators have said they have a “fairly good idea” he didn’t have a licence to possess firearms in Canada."

That was posted 2nd May 2020.

Quebec already pushed back last year with their provential "gun registry" there was apparently 19% compliance and that was from information to the prior gun registration as well as guns that were in stores and stock not purchased to a nobody yet. That news dissapeared real fast and never to be heard about again. So I have a tough time believing that they can try and make this stick with that province. They didn't want to ban anything or change anything just wanted inventory of what ppl had in their possession legally and barely anybody followed those rules. So I expect Quebec would argue just as much with this ridiculous passing of bs legislation

As of August last year I would imagine even higher today.
The numbers tell the story: only 700,000 out of 1.6 million firearms have been registered since the deadline passed last January.

So 1/2 the guns in let’s call it a year. That’s not very good. It’s not bad, but not good either.
Speaking of the registry Gilroy. Wasn’t the year of the gun 2005? Thank god that registry works so well......
Jane Creba kind of shook the city. Opened their eyes a bit, as did Vivi Leonis.
But the year of the gun, was the year people really started thinking about the gangs. It’s only gotten worse since around the 90s
So tell us. How much good did it do, and all that money? I’m thinking it pays for a lot of Intel, boots to deal with the problem.
Or are your upper brass afraid of the spotlight?

There you go, I should have googled as well but less than 50% have compiled with just saying I have these firearms stored in my house. They didn't even want to do anything like the BS ban were dealing with for a week now and I dont see it going over easily with many law abiding citizens that own them. Not saying were gonna start a war but I dont see many handing them over in 2 years without alot of fighting between now and then. (Obviously court fighting with lawyers and all that not gun fights like some would probably think I'm meaning)

Time will tell Gilroy, voters are fickle. But sometimes pandaros box is best left closed. Smart people know that

Yep,you got to be careful some of those citizens asked to pick out a AR-15 from a 30.06 Remington semi will get it right most times.
Then if you ask them which one should be banned most will pick the AR 15
But then some of them will say BOTH.

Lol. Good luck with that. The middle is not stupid Gilroy.
As much as we gripe about Red Toronto.
1 Rob Ford trashed the “looney left”
2 Doug Fords win was just, or bigger for the same reasons
3 Harper won 3 terms. Name the last federal liberal that did that. And his majority came when he made the do nothing but waste $$ registry an issue. The public is waking up. And they are getting pissed that you guys aren’t doing your jobs
