    Could that just be an effect caused by the sun shining in that specific spot? If you look at the vegetation around the bear, it looks illuminated, while other areas are not.

    I don't see any shadows so I don't think the sun is out. Cool pic.

    Judging by other photos, definitely brown and black.

    Can't make up his or her mind what color suits them best. Cool photo. In 35 odd years of chasing them I've never run across one that looked like that, half and half...

    I also see what could be condensation or oil residue on the lense changing the surrounding area.

    Yes, there is definitely something up with the pictures. You can see distinct colour changes between the middle of the photos and the outside.
