Default Finally got the birds to commit but...

Well after a long and uneventful evening hunt I had some action. finally after a long sit the birds crossed into the field I was sitting in, the same 3 hens and one tom I've been after for weeks to fill my second tag. they have always stayed in a group and never given me any attention. No decoys, one hen, one hen and a Jake nothing seems to get his attention so I was surprised when i saw a hen make a run for my single hen decoy. I knew it was getting late so I glanced at my phone... just past 7 .... my heart sank as the 3 hens started attacking my decoy with the tom strutting right in behind. well there was nothing I could do but try not to spook the birds and take some pictures now at 10 yards it was the most exciting turkey encounter I've had in a while!

Many days have I had them out of reach. It is fun to watch them though. It will come as long as they feel safe. Tagged my last tom with minutes to spare. 95137955_871969096654853_2431868469348663296_n.jpg

You will get him next time. That has happened to me trying to get my friend on a bird. Finally the bird comes out gets into range and just past legal shooting. Heart breaking but that’s the game

    Just a matter of time....
I'd stick with either a single or two hens. If you can get the dominant hen pissed off and close to your decoys, the big guy will follow.
    Good luck
