Tracking an injured bear

Shot a Bear TONIGHT
we not supposed to hunt at night ...?
It is against the law ....

I just shot a bear tonight, quite of bit of blood waited about 45 minutes after the shot to start tracking.....didnt find it tonight so gonna keep going in the mourning....any tips and tricks???

Maybe he wasn’t hunting. Maybe the bear was eating his bees at night. Then legal. Or maybe he just meant after supper.

I looked all mourning from 5:30 am to 11:00 am......unfortunately from the last blood spot i spotted last night i didnt find more..... must of walked 3-5 km in each direction from the last blood.....nothing he vanished as did the blood trail that was actually quite decent at first.....things like this suck for a hunter and as for the animal but part of hunting big game is bad shot placement sometimes :/. Hit him low in intestines is my guess

Well, that sucks !! At least it sounds like you did your best to make the recovery.....lesson learned !!

Sounds like you put in a good effort on the follow up. Learn from the experience and move on. We've all been there at some time or another.

Awe that sucks..
I agree with put a trail cam up see if he comes back. I had a shoot through mesh incident. I was 100% sure I got a good hit on a young buck followed his tracks in the snow with little blood to no blood. Turned up back on cam a week later with no visible injuries.
