Default Fisherman's Pier trolling toward Bronte

We got on the water and ready to go by 6:30am... We trolled a few hours in the 100-120 FOW range making our way toward shell's pier with nothing to show for our time but one shaker....... Lots of boats in our area but not much fish being caught. We marked lots of bait fish but just could not get a bite going. Around 9am I decided to pull up our rigs and head for deeper water. Put down our lines in 240 FOW and almost instantly go a hit 35feet down on a spoon a nice trout rewards us....
40 minutes later we got a nice 15lb-18lb salmon... Opened up one of the fish and found 2 smelts and an elewife already inside...
We trolled back into some shallower water with no luck... Off the water by noon... Dead calm out there this morning...

You got to send them my way. Trolling off the spit couldn't scratch anything myself. Buddy and his nephew pulled in 6-7 1 lb shakers on lead core. Had a flock of cormorants in the hundreds start staging in 100 ft of water altered course towards them tracked them out to 240ft before the continued on your way. Marked the occasional bait ball under them but no hooks though. Oh well there is always tomorrow.
